Absolutely. This is exactly it. If you have an industry where "brutally powerful men" as Oprah put it, can make or break everybody else, then a) more of those types of men will flourish in the industry, and b) you'll create a climate where everybody is too busy looking out for themselves to help anybody else.

Add to that the fear of coming forward, if you were one of the victims, and ruining your chance at success, and it's totally unsurprising these people keep doing what they're doing for years.
