Again, I'm not arguing that it's not hard to be a cop or that it's not dangerous. I have a lot of empathy for what they go through. But that doesn't mean the entire burden for staying calm and de-escalating should be placed on the civilian.
I'm not trying to minimise the deaths of the cops you mention here, but more civilians die in police encounters than police. The police have all the advantages in most situations.
Here, they faced a man who was showing his hands, talking respectfully, and who they had no reason to suspect was a threat. Nazario *could* have been more cooperative. I agree. But the police *should* have been more professional.
