Again, I'm not sure what you're trying to gain by pointing out that people of other ethnicities were enslaved, I never claimed that they weren't. And my opposition to it is just as strong to my opposition of the slavery of black people. It's just not what I'm talking about here.

As for abolition being driven by whites, I'm still not sure where you're getting that idea from. There were many prominent white abolitionists of course, but are you forgetting that we're talking about a period of time when black people were literal slaves? It's hardly as if black people were able to make a big fuss about abolition which would be heard in the same way as it was heard from a white person.

Even famous free black voices in the abolitionist movement like Frederick Douglass were only really given due credit long after their acomplisments. Black people's work to end slavery was obviously never going to be as visibile as the work of white people. That's a failing of the times it happened in, not a success of white abolitionists.
