Ah, I see. Yeah, I think there's a healthy middle ground between these two options. I'm definitely not an advocate of the puritanical approach either. I think it's important to teach kids about the mechanics, pregnancy, disease, etc. And to remove shame around sexuality.

But I also think there should be boundaries. I think kids should always know they can come to their parents or other trusted adults if they need or want to talk about the specifics of their sexuality. But I don't think adults should be driving that part of the conversation. Just as amongst adults, a person's sexuality is private unless they choose to share details about it. It feels like a lot of people, especially teachers, are losing sight of that.
