Ah, the old, "whoops, I "accidentally" responded to my own comment instead of yours" eh? Don't worry, I got you.š
My evidence for the IDF and settlers killing settlers is "scant" you say?? And you're accusing me of being obtuse?? My two links weren't supposed to be the final say on Israeli atrocities. They're just a starting point for you if it turns out you're genuinely interested in learning about the whole of this story.
I have better things to do than spend hours digging up hundreds of links for every person I talk to here. Especially for information that anybody paying the most tangential attention to the conflict will be well aware of. And especially as, true to form, all that happens is you nitpick some inane detail of the source or claim that it's only receiving attention because the meanies want to pick on Israel for all the...uh, atrocious things it's doing.
I mean, as you say, there's a genocide in Sudan too, right? So why is everybody so mad just because Isreal wants to have its fun committing a genocide too š„ŗšš? Well, for one, my government isn't funding the genocide in Sudan and providing weapons for it. Nor do I speak to so-called reasonable people on a daily basis making excuses for that or any other genocide except this one. And nor is this current genocide the latest violation in a 76-year campaign of ethnic cleansing that the world has done nothing to stop before extremists like Hamas came on the scene.
Anyway, the clip is from a documentary by a Jewish filmmaker. Full documentary here. You could also just Google Tantura, Deir Yassin or Nakba if you're genuinely unaware. And the UN report is one of several, you can look them up by Googling too, reporting sexual assault by the IDF over a period of several years. Human rights organisations, including Israeli human rights organisations, have been reporting on this for decades.
And no, as I already explained, what's obtuse is claiming that if a country has an openly stated and militarily enforced policy of stealing your land by force, killing anybody who resists, and refusing to even define its borders so it can continue to steal said land, you're only allowed to take action against the incursions. It's so ridiculous I don't know how you can sleep at night having thought it. There is so much you appear not to know about this situation that it seems to you that I'm ignorant for stating well-known facts.
But yes, you're right, the only reason I condemn Hamas' attack is because it targeted civilians. If it had been a strike against military assets or settlers specifically, I would consider it wholly legitimate reaction to Israel's decades long violations of international law. Violations that have received essentially nothing in terms of censure by the international community.
And yes, Gaza was under siege on October 7th. Nothing has materially changed about Israel's control of Gaza's borders/airspace/international waters. That's why itās been such a nightmare to get food and medicine into Gaza that the president of the United States, Israel's staunchest ally, had to build a f**king temporary jetty on the coast of Gaza to try to stop a million people from starving. If a country is even in a position to check everything going into another country or cut off its access to electricity/fuel, the former country has the latter country under siege, or occupation or whichever term you find eases your conscience the most. And for the finally blindingly obvious point of the day, if a country is under occupation or siege, it cannot turn itself into the next Dubai or Singapore or whatever utopia Douglas Murray and Sam Harris are blathering on about lately.
