And that's totally fine I guess. But it doesn't make the essay pointless. It means you're missing the point.
It's endlessly fascinating to me that people think glib shoulder-shrugging about "America's racism caste system" being "just the way it is," is just as legitimate as an attempt to say something that makes people question and oppose it.
