Certainly seems to be true to me. But as I say in the article, I'm certainly not arguing against representation. I'm just saying that the best way to represent people is to highlight their humanity, not their "identity."
I think it's great that more effort is being made to normalise the sight of people with disabilities, people of different sexual orientations, people from different backgrounds and cultures, the world is made richer by all of that.
But it's important not to lose sight of the fact that these superficial differences don't define who we are.
