Could you give some examples of this? I genuinely haven't seen it.
And yes, Andrew Tate is disgusting (although I wish more people would realise he's a symptom of exactly the problem I'm describing here), Jordan Peterson, who has also become a tragic parody of himself, started out with a genuinely positive and socially valuable message for young men.
And what happened to him? Oh yes, he was demonised simply for having a message of personal responsibility and self-improvement primarily aimed at young, aimless men.
Jordan Peterson is, in my opinion, one of the great tragedies of our time. A man, who seemed to genuinely want to to be helpful, who truly seemed to have some real integrity, even while obviously not getting everything right, who was so endlessly attacked and misrepresented that he allowed himself to become somebody who he would have despised five years ago.
The responsibility for the transformation is, of course, on him. But man, he sure had a lot of help.
