Don't try to play games if you don't understand how they work.π
And no, I'm not telling myself that everybody who wrote these bills is motivated by an honest desire to see the history of racism taught. I don't care what their motivations are, and thankfully I'm not arrogant enough to presume that I can read the mind of everybody in the world who has ever had anything to do with something I disagree with.
What I care about is what the bills do and don't do. What they do and don't prohibit. What impact they have on young, impressionable minds. I can't believe people who would swear blind that they're not racists are even arguing this!
The bills say that teachers can't teach that one race is superior to another. They prevent teachers from teaching race essentialism. Explain to me why this is a problem? Explain to me the harm you see coming from this? Explain to me why it's necessary to teach a CHILD that they are to blame for things that happened before they were born, or to make them feel like they're inferior to somebody else on the basis of their race, in order to teach them history?
Explain to me why, if a child does feel guilt or anguish because of the actions of somebody else of their race, you don't see that it's a golden opportuunity to teach that child that we aren't tied by our race but by our common humanity. Good God man, what are you arguing in defense of here? Do you even know? Or is it just "RePuBlIcAnS bAd!!11"?
