Everybody likes messages that are comforting. This isn’t a white trait, it’s a human trait. I cannot understand this trend, especially amongst white pople, to act as if white people are a different speies of human being. If you’re racist or complacent or selfish it’s good for you to recognise that, and far more importantly, to DO something about it.

But if I assume that you are those things purely because of your skin, or assume that a black person isn’t purely on the basis of theirs, how exactly does that lead to a less racist world? I’m not interested in seeing white people claiming virtue through self-flagellation, nor am I interested in the permanent victimhood of black people. I’m interested in progress.
