Frankly, I'd much rather a podcaster made a shitty joke 9 years ago when barely anybody knew who he was, than that the president of the United States habitually (and with almost no pushback) used people's race to win him political points in the present day. I don't understand how the vast difference in scope between these two things isn't obvious.
Of course, in an ideal world, we'd have neither. But to equate them badly misses the pointing my opinion.
