From the BLM website:

"Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc. is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes."

They state a list of 7 "demands" there too. Interestingly enough, police accountability doesn't even make the list. They spend a surprising mount of time talking about Trump. Most people thought they were trying to do something about police brutality/accountability, or at least to improve black lives. That's what they gave their money for. But that's not what happened.

BLM Global Network raised ~$90 million off the deaths of people like George Floyd and Trayvon Martin. Grassroots black organisations have spent years complaining about mismanagement and lack of distribution of funds. In fact, a coalition of chapters recently sued BLM Global Network over it. Meanwhile, several founders of various arms of the network are being investigated for embezzling millions of dollars.

Protesting is not a function. Attention is not an end, but a means. So what I am doing is saying that given the resources and international attention that BLM had focused on them for years, given that they actually had the ear of politicians who could effect change, given the lack of any results that I'm aware of other than more racial tension, I'm actually quite angry.

But yes, I'm all for objectives and goals. Love them! Activism is meaningless without them in my opinion. So what objectives and goals are we talking about here? What was all the money for except for buying Patrisse Khan Cullors a few fancy houses?

Why aren't you as keen as I am for an organisation that enriched itself on the back of black suffering to provide some measurable result for black people? Or even a coherent plan for doing so. I'd happily settle for that.
