God, beautifully put. I couldn't agree more. It really seems that some people lose track of the fact that they're dealing with real, vulnerable, impressionable human beings when they teach this stuff.

As you say, these are young egos that are still forming, yet people treat them as if they're guilty of all the evils of the most vindictive adults. I saw a video recently of a mother criticising her eleven year old son for comforting his five year old sister because he's "responding to white girl tears".
