I'd say if there's a reason that my writing is convincing it's that I believe very passionately in everything I write. I'm sure I couldn't write something compelling if I didn't believe it. Maybe some people can do that, but I'm not one of them.

Honestly, I'm writing because the conversation around race has become so divisive and petty and toxic. I got tired of wishing somebody would speak about these important issues more clearly and decided to try to do it myself.
