Haha, where do you think I'm trying to get? You think I care about convincing you random internet stranger? The main character syndrome some people have on the internet is hilarious.
You're talking about an issue that you appear to know next to nothing about. And you're not even bothering to take on board the information written in front of you before commenting on it. So I don't have high hopes of "getting far" with you, because I don't think you're at all interested in understanding or thinking. Never mind showing a shred of empathy.
If you were, you'd already have learned enough to speak about it more intelligently. Or, at least, you'd take the time to read the words in the article and think about them before denying simple, uncontested facts and describing the article as "garbage" (what was that you were saying about personal attacks?).
The conflict has been ongoing for over 76 years. The IDF was killing unarmed Palestinians less than a month before October 7th. The fact that you don't know this, the fact that you only just started paying attention now, and so naively think "this latest round" of the conflict is what's blocking the Palestinians' pursuit of freedom and statehood, is another example of this problem.
The only path to Palestinian freedom is for the international community to grow some balls and force Israel to follow the international laws it's been breaking since, even at the most generous interpretation, 1967. The Palestinians have no hope of doing this by themselves through military means, and Israel has no intention of doing the right thing diplomatically.
In that respect, while the Palestinians are, of course, far worse off than they were as individuals (because Israel has spent the past year slaughtering them), the Palestinian cause is in a much better place. Because millions of people have woken up to just how evil Israel has been and continues to be. Hopefully, the attention will finally be enough to end the injustice and the killing on both sides once and for all.
