Just one thing to add to the mix, please explain how transgender women don't belong to the "male" category of biological sex. I mean, I take your point to a degree, trans women are not identical to males after hormone treatments.

But a) part of the issue Rowling is raising is that there’s a significant push to legally classify males as women without any requirement for hormone treatment, and b) while you can argue that it’s simplistic to say that trans women are males, isn’t it just flat-out wrong to say that trans women are females? Again, biologically speaking. I’m not talking about gender identity here.
