Hi Chris! I would have responded sooner but I was in the middle of writing an article which sums up my thoughts on this argument.

I really think that viewing these groups as monoliths, even groups like Trump supporters, is a habit we need to break. There's a far greater cognitive load in treating people as individuals, but everybody benefits from doing it.

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
