Hmm, I was with you until here. Affirmative action was created because a lot of people cared very much about the colour of people's skin. It was necessary because of the prevailing doubt in the abilities of people of colour. Also, fun fact, affirmative action has benefited white women more than any other group.

I think it's clear I share the belief that the goal is a world where none of this talk about identity matters. But you can't pretend we're already magically there. Or worse, that we've always been there. That's incredibly obviously not true.
