Hmmm, could you point out where I called Republicans Nazis?
What I actually did was point out that several people, who I didn't even call Republicans as I don't think they bear any resemblance to real Republican/conservative ideals, have been behaving in ways that are very reminiscent of the Nazi party.
I didn't do this lightly, I didn't just say they're Nazis because I don't like them or because I disagree with them. I gave several specific examples of how their choice of words, the company they keep, the ideas they share, and the gestures they make, are 1:1 replicas of the words, company, ideas and gestures of the Nazis.
I then invite the reader to think about what they take from that.
Yes, some people overuse the word "Nazi." Just as some people overuse the word "racist" and "sexist" and "antisemite." That doesn't mean these things don't exist or that we shouldn't talk about them urgently. And it certainly doesn't mean we should avoid comparisons when they're apt.
I'm very tired of this self-neuturing I'm often asked to do where I'm not allowed to point out obvious truths because it might hurt people's feelings.
