How did I frame trans women entirely as a problem? The article is right there, please, show me how I've framed trans women "trans women entirely as a problem."

And no, I wasn't saying that Gervais didn't go far enough. How you got that from what I wrote is beyond me. I'm simply saying he didn't say anything at all that trans groups and trans activists on Twitter haven't been saying themselves. If you think it sounds bad when Gervais says it, but not when Pink News or trans activists themselves say it, ask yourself if the problem is the rhetoric itself.

I also think I was also perfectly clear about what form that support took. And didn’t even mention sex-based rights. Skimming with the assumption that you’re reading an anti-trans screed is not reading.

The problem with this issue is how incredibly bad people are at recognising the there's any room for nuance. I mean, seriously, read the entire third section of the piece. In fact, pretty much every word after "And because I know some people are just dying to misinterpret me..."

It's so maddening to have to keep explaining to people that it's possible to disagreee with some of the things happening, specifically regarding self ID, without being anti-trans.
