I completely agree. Unfortuantely, "Blacks" did suffer from it. And Jim Crow after it. Not a few unlucky ones, ALL of them. This asymmetry meant that ALL of their descendants were impacted by its effects.

Today, not ALL black people benefit from affirmative action and diversity programmes. In fact, the majority don't. These are small efforts at rebalancing an injustice.

As I said in the article, if you feel that's unfair, I understand. I agree! But the unfairness you're objecting to is, with respect, utterly trivial compared to the one you're weighing it against.
