I completely agree as long as the door is always left open for redemption and persuasion. The problem with cancel culture is that its supporters are so eager to banish people, there's rarely room for the persuasion needed to make the difference.
People like Picciolini and Phelps-Roper and Barrett, they certainly all exhibited a continued pattern of behaviour. I'm sure many people gave up on them and wrote them off. And I'm not blaming those people for doing that. Nobody's compassion is limitless. But those guys all turned out to be reachable. And because of their history, they've all gone on to do more good in the world than most of us in terms of deradicalising extremists.
