I do, I have a bunch of black readers too. This fact often gets overlooked. Lots of black people already don't define themselves by their "race". In fact, I suspect black people are more likely than white people to be aware that "race" isn't a real thing.
So when you talk about blackness and whiteness being important, I'm wondering what you mean. How are you defining blackness and whiteness? And if you don't see advantages to holding onto it, why do you wonder whether the black people who hold onto it "should" let go of it?
