I don't know how many times I have to repeat this very obvious point: not every article can cover the entire history of the Israel/Palestine conflict, not to mention the wider religious and geopolitical issues in the region. If you'd like to write a ~1000 word article that achieves this, I'd be very interested to read it. But, of course, that's impossible.
This article had a very specific aim, it's right there in the title: Why is it that the Palestinian people fail to condemn the brutal actions of Hamas? A lot of people are, understandably struggling to understand this. Including many who act as if it's the ultimate evidence of Palestinian savagery and the impossibility of peace.
There are countless more examples of Israeli oppression I could have mentioned (Israel's "poor behaviour" is far from limited to Netanyahu), just as, of course, there are countless examples of Palestinian atrocities and belligerence (if you want me to go into the entire question of Jihadism you'll have to commission several books).
So yes, my knowledge of the conflict, if I say so myself, is far above average. But if you're expecting me to cover thousands of years of history in 100 words, or mention things totally unrelated to the thesis of the article, I'm not sure what to tell you.
