I don't think it's a question of anybody having "gotten to her." I think the issue (which don't get me wrong, is horrifying in its own right) is that it's simply too risky for any even slightly left-leaning public figure to be express their opinion on this subject honestly.

Heck, even regular people who aren't public figures, who aren't the least bit transphobic, are afraid of the consequences of acknowledging simple facts in 2022. We're presented with a binary choice; being honest or being supportive of trans people. My question is; can't we please be both?
