I don't think it's quite that simple. We take all kinds of conditions seriously that don't have an empirical basis. My issue is that we're allowed to talk about them. Gender dysphoria is obviously a real condition. It's affected people forever.

But it's only in the past 5-10 years that it's become something we're not allowed to talk about or question. And that, in turn, has led to the medicalisation of millions of people. As well as sweeping societal changes that have a real impact on, mainly, women. I think that's worth having an honest conversation about.
