I implied that nobody is immune from bias, which if you're familiar with the field you'll be aware of. The comment was in response to whether Medium supresses articles that counter a certain narrative, an idea which neither of us has access to the statistics we'd need to assess with any rigour. However, since my articles run counter to that narrative and have been very succeessful, we have to at least consider the possibility that the hypothesis is wrong.
My profession requires that I write on the internet, which means that thousands of people are reading and scrutinising my words for errors. I'm not in the habit of saying things lightly or making statements about subjects I don't know about. Even on Twitter (I know where I am thanks). Seeing as we're sharing credentials, I have a very respectable scientific background including a masters in Theoretical Physics and an ex-girlfriend who is has a doctorate in molecular biology. I'm more than capable of holding my own on topics like this. Otherwise I'd have happily admitted I didn't know enough.
We're not at work, we're having a conversation on the internet. I'm happy to do that but I really don't appreciate being condescended to. If you have something relevant to say which you think I'm unaware of, please feel free to share it without the grandstanding.
