I mean, I'm not sure what to tell you. I link to examples in the article of it having exactly that effect. If you don't believe it it's because you don't want to see the facts that are in front of you.
Though I will say it's not so much about teaching. Of course, the factual teaching history isn't likely to give anybody an inferiority complex. It's the way it's taught, and especially, it's the one-sidedness of the way it's taught that's the problem.
