I think this is just a question of how bad you imagine things can get. Yes, both sides are far from perfect. But that's not the same as saying both sides are equally bad. Particularly with what Trump has turned the Republican party into.

If we were talking about Obama/McCain, say, yes, I'd largely agree with you. This isn't just "rEpUbLiCAnS bAd, DeMoCrAts GoOD". In fact, in several alternate universes, I'd be a staunch critic of Harris for president. But in this universe, that would be like pretending that a rampaging hippo and a rampaging skunk are equally dangerous.
