I want to be super clear that I'm not directing this at you, but if a voter would make a decision about who should be the leader of the free world, about who should have the power to decide whether the entire world gets dragged into a nuclear war or how to handle the many potential disasters the world faces, based on some mean names that randoms called them on Twitter, they are, indeed, an uneducated idiot.
It is horrifying beyond measure that I think you're right, some people really are making a decision of this magnitude on the basis of memes on social media.
Similarly, if they look at the economy in terms no more nuanced than, "when Trump was president groceries cost this much, and now, four years later, they cost this much," as if global economies turn on a dime, or as if nothing else happening in the world affects grocery prices, they are also, terrifyingly uneducated.
It is almost always the case that the economic conditions you're facing now are the result of the previous administration's policies, as well as, of course, thousands of other global factors that may or may not have anything to do with the decisions of any specific U.S. president.
Although if we're talking about decisions made by specific presidents, we can look, just for one, at the increase in national debt, which was significantly higher under Trump than under Biden.
This term, "TDS" has sadly convinced millions of people that only fragile, elitists "Libs" who have lost their minds would criticise Trump, when the exact opposite is true. The true derangement at this point is to look at Trump and not see what an absolute catastrophe he is for almost everybody, especially the people who are currently struggling to pay for their groceries.
