Females are responsible for around 2% of sexual assault. Males, the other 98%. So yes, if males are prevented from entering female spaces, even if just by social convention, if women feel able to challenge an obvious male in their spaces, yes, I think that protects women from assault. But again, sexual assault is not the only reason female spaces exist. As you'd expect from the above statistics, males (ALL MALES) are more sexually predatory than females. This includes a whole range of behaviours that can make females feel uncomfortable, even if it doesn't result in them being raped. I think this matters.

This isn't an argument against trans woman ever using female spaces, it's an argument against the idea that anybody, even a rapist, gets to simply and spontaneously declare themselves a woman and people like you insist that that's good enough.

Also, this isn't just about bathrioms. As you well know. It's about prisons and communal chnaging rooms and (trigger warning) rape crisis centers.

And where exactly have I in any way encouraged trans people being assaulted? You're so unbearably dishonest. I don't encourage men being assaulted either. As I pointed out recently, men are raped in horrifying numbers in male prisons. I think this is awful. I think far more should be done to prevent it. But I don't think that should include putting those men into female prisons just because male prisons are dangerous.
