I wish I could agree with this...well, let me be clear, I do agree with this, but human beings are too flawed to ever perceive that objective truth. We're each trapped in our boxes of bias and insecurity and none of us can get out of them alone.
That's why discourse, the very thing that we've gotten so bad at, is so vital. The reason why other people's perspectives are valuable isn't because they're "true", it's because we can use them to get our own perspectives that little bit closer to the truth.
It's when we believe, as some people do, that we're the holders of some unshakeable moral rightness that we find ourselves in trouble. It's when we believe that the people who disagree with us are all idiots or evil that we stop being able to approach (but never quite reach) that objective truth.
