If it makes you feel any better, I also think it's preposterous to capitalise the "b" in black. Why do either of these colours deserve capitalisation? If you ever see either of them capitalised in my work it's because an editor did it. And if they do, I always insist that they capitalise both.

I completely agree with you. People are people. Nobody's voice should be discounted because of the colour of their skin or their gender or anything else. Good ideas, truth-telling, that's all that matters. The people who understand that are my tribe.
