I'm convinced that some of them have, yes. There's this deliciously self-affirming temptation to argue that because all of them haven't changed their ways (which will of course never happen), they're all irredeemably terrible. We should remember that most of these people will go back to living ordinary lives once the inciter-in-chief is out of office.

This guy clearly believed Trump's bullshit, but he's also a reasonable human being. I believe that there are many more like him. I've even spoken to some. But we're very unlikely to see people like them on the news because they don't fit the narrative, so it's easy to believe that the worst represent them all.

Anyway, thank you for the kind words. You're right, we're deep in our echo chamber here, and sadly I agree that there may still be worse to come. I think our best defence against that is to fight the instinct to dismiss them all as evil.
