I'm not saying "black people" are doing anything. I am a black person. I'm saying that you are using a flawed analogy to try to make a bad point. Please don't try to pass of your hot takes as the voice of black people.

It's very apparent that your soul has been worn on. I'm genuinely sorry about that. I have a good degree of understanding where that comes from. But that doesn't make you right. Yes, I'm well aware that immigrants to America were often treated as second (or worse) class citizens. The Irish, Italians, Jews, regardless of how light their skin was.

But "whiteness" isn't some kind of legal classification bestowed on these people, right? They looked white enough that after the cultural edges and accents had been smoothed off, they blended in to an already white majority country that was still legally segregated. They still faced discrimination too, but the lack of visible identifiers made that discrimination less significant.

You can claim that "whiteness" means whatever character traits you want. It's a made up concept anyway. But as soon as you say that everybody with white skin exhibits those traits, you're making a racist argument. In exactly the same vein as the racists who say "all black people are ..." Because Elie treats white people and whiteness as synonyms. By your definition, that would mean all white people are guilty of "a superior attitude, constant disrespect, etc. If this is how you feel in 2023, I feel bad for you. Because this isn't a reflection of reality.
