I'm not saying that black people are always worse of than white people (yes, I was just talking about financially here). I can see that the way I worded this may have led you to believe I was comparing descendants of slaves to white people but I'm not.
I'm saying that descendants of slaves are worse off than they would have been if their ancestors weren't slaves (or if the slaves had gotten fair reparations once they were freed).
All those years when the slaves couldn't build wealth or businesses or communities meant that they had nothing to pass down to their children. And every generation where that happened meant that the next generation was worse off than they otherwise would have been.
That's all I mean here. It's not to say that descendants of slaves couldn't still end up prospering. Many have done.
