I'm not saying there's a "correct" way to respond to racism. I'm pointing out that Marion Gray *isn't* responding to racism. No racism was perpetrated against her at all. Her school, however ham-fistedly (and at black students' request), is trying to *support* black people. She's a black girl whose circumstances would be described as privileged by any sane human being who is revelling in a identy of victimhood.
She's using the fact that she shares the same skin colour as people who are genuinely struggling to centre herself. How many of the black families we *should* be talking about would do anything to send their child to a $50,000 a year school with active diversity measures in place? Diversity measures that see black peoplee OVER-represented in her school. Why isn't she talking about them or raising up their voices? No. It's all about some stupid Zoom session that she didn't like and could have left at any time.
It's narcissism masquerading as oppression.
