I'm not saying they're completely separate. I'm saying that they're extremists who live in the same country.

Donald Trump was democratically (-ish) elected. Around 10,000 people joined the rally on Jan 6th to overthrow the 2020 election results. How many people who weren't there do you think should be condemned as part of that? Even if we just focus on people who voted for him in 2016.

I understand that Israel has plenty to answer for in all this. Truly I do. I don't blame the people in Gaza and the West Bank for being angry. But I'm saying that anger is quite separate from the aims of Hamas. Hamas want to destroy Israel and kill Jews far more than they want to help Palestinians. In fact, helping Palestinians, as they say themselves, is irrelevant to them. They've killed Palestinians several times, just for protesting the conditions in Gaza that Hamas is doing nothing to ameliorate.
