I'm not sure if I'm following your meaning here but you seem to be suggesting that I've written this piece with no direct experience of what I'm talking about. If that's the case, let me assure you that you couldn't be more wrong.
I've personally de-programmed self-described racists on numerous occasions, I've spoken to people of all colours about the history of racism, I'm well versed on anti-racist thought today. I'm very well aware of what I'm talking about.
I diidn't say that a lack of awareness of the struggles of black people is stupidity or a lack of wisdom, you appear to have misread. I'm saying that the failure to see that racial segregation is anathema to racial unity is stupid. I'm saying that screaming in the face of black people about black rights is stupid. I'm saying that wasting a large platform by asking whether there should be more black robots is stupid.
And teaching eight year olds to define their existence in terms of power and privilege is flat out harmful. There are very good reasons why we don't teach children about the more complex aspects of the human experience and that's because they absorb ideas deeply before they've developed the abiliity to think critically. Are you aware of the "brown eyes, blue eyes" experiement? If not, look it up, I'd be very happy to discuss the difference with you.
There are no experts on the black experience. No objective standard for which words are right and wrong. We all need to figure this out together because we all live together, and that means talking to each other honestly and openly.
