I'm sorry, how do you know this?? How are you able to read the thoughts of "a lot of white people" who lived 150 years ago and who literally risked (and in some cases lost) their lives to help free black people?
Why did they do that if they didn't see black people as human? And more importantly, why are you invested in assuming the worst of them? If somebody, whatever colour they were, was willing to die to free my ancestors, in a society that hated them for doing so, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Shouldn't you?
