Is the community under siege though? I see so many trans accounts constantly claiming hate, and yes, there are the Matt Walsh's and the Michael Knowles' of the world, but most of the time when I look it's "hate" like Roisin Murphy expressing concern about puberty blockers.

I think trans activism has done a huge disservice to trans people by paining the community as unreasonable, paranoid reactionaries who attack people for even mild disagreement. As you say, people will inevitably be driven away if this is how they see innocent people being treated.
