It's not your fault, you're not responsible for the countless times I've had to repeat this same point, but I'm so sick of this argument.

Yes, black people can and occasionally do, walk around with rifles strapped to their chests without being arrested. Walking around with a rifle strapped to your chest, as insane as it is, is PERFECTLY LEGAL!!!

So much of the reaction to this case is people mind-reading about what "we all know would have happened if..." when they don't know what would have happened at all. And they haven't even taken a moment to recognise the evidence which directly contradicts their prognostications.

And yes , I'm aware of the threat of white supremacy. In fact, if you'd read a little more carefully, you'd have noticed that just above the section you highlighted, I talk about how white supremacy is a major domestic terror threat. Citing comments from the director of the FBI.

You're right. Removing unconscious bias is a good thing. But you don't do that simply by describing everything as racist or evidence of white supremacy. That's just swapping one form of unconscious bias for another.
