Jesus dude. No. You said that people don't understand the distinction between other racial slurs and the n-word in the UK. I happen to know that they do. You assumed I didn't know better because you assumed I thought "America was the centre of the world" You happened to be wrong.

But as we're talking about dismissing experience, doesn't my experience as a black man just maybe, possibly, conceeeeivably, carry more weight as concerns this particular word? Is it possible that I have more experience with how it's used and treated than a white guy?

Is it possible that a black guy, who is also a race writer, has paid more attention to the way this word is treated in various contexts? Can you imagine that I have spoken to more black people aboutthis word than you have? Or maybe that I've spoken to other people of collour in general about race and racial issues?

Just food for thought.
