Jesus. That's so awful. Stories like this just break my heart. Just imagine how much better off we'd all be if we looked out for each other.

There was a lot of debate online about whether Neely's criminal past was relevant. Obviously nobody on the train knew about it. But I think we can all feel the difference between somebody shouting idle threats, and somebody who has it in them to carry out the threats they're making.

From his past behaviour, Neely clearly had it in him. I think it's very likely that had an impact on how things went down. And sadly, in the heat of the moment, it’s frighteningly easy for things to go too far.
