Let's say, for argument's sake, that Rittenhouse is a dyed in the wool, hardcore white-supremacist and not just a dumb, impressionable kid. Does that connect his shooting of three white men in self defence to the history of racism? If Rittenhouse eats a burger, does that connect burgers to the history of racism?

If your argument is that America was founded on white supremacy so everything that ever happens, for all time, is connected to white supremacy, all you're doing is defining white supremacy in a way that means it's always to blame and can never be fixed.

And yes, I know Rittenhouse flashed white supremacist symbols. One of the many, many comments you've left on this article was in response to me telling a reader that Rittenhouse was seen throwing up white supremacist symbols. But that doesn't mean he shot three white men because of white supremacy. More importantly, it doesn't explain how on earth shooting three three white men would further the aims of white supremacy. And don't say they were fighting for black people. They very, very clearly weren't.

Honestly, I just can't understand what you think yelling "white supremacy" at everything is supposed to achieve.
