No, I understood that you agreed. You literally wrote "which I agree with", I just disagreed with what you followed up with. I was responding to that. And I guess I was a little confused by a comment saying that the opposite of a true statement is false. This is a truism, no?

I also just find myself very tired with cynicism masquerading as insight. Sadly, I see it all too often. Saying you don't need to read the comments to know something about the comments isn't true. It literally cannot be true. It's just projection. And unless you've spotted something I haven't, nobody in the comments here did what you suspected. Certainly not "several."

There's one guy, who obviously watches too much Fox News, who was simply generalising about "Leftists" and saying nothing about victimhood or aggreivement or anything else. Nobody wishing that all the victims would STFU. Nobody "leaping to equate sometimes with always". Again, this just seems like pure projection.

Please do link me to any comments that disprove this if I'm wrong though. I'd be interested to know if I missed something.

So yeah, my response wasn't about you not being "the 'right' type of person" (again, what the heck is this even supposed to mean?!). It was about you saying things that weren't true. And projecting a false view of the world onto people's comments.

This frustrates me simply because a shared reality and a willingness to engage with it honestly, are table stakes for any productive discussion about the issues we face. I’m tired of seeing people who are so convinced of how terrible everyone’s attitudes are that they don't take the time to read them in good faith and discover that actually, in many cases, it's simply not true. I've had literally thousands of conversations about these issues with people online and in person. And it's genuinely only a handful who hold the attitudes you suggest here.
