No, I’m not failing to acknowledge that black people were involved in the slave trade, and definitely not ignoring that slavery exists today. I’d advocate for far stronger consequences for those engaged in slavery today and far greater reparations for the slaves than a few diversity programmes. It’s just not the subject of this particular piece.
