"People living on a stretch of land should share it, should have equal rights, and shouldn't slaughter each other when they disagree" is not a “radical idea.” It's just an idea that a few demagogues and religious fundamentalists have dug their heels in against. And because they've dug their heels in so deep and so long, perfectly sane solutions seem impossible.
A two-state solution? Sure. I'm behind any solution that stops thousands of sane, innocent people from being killed. But you act as if people with different cultural norms or faiths living peacefully alongside each other is some fantastical, unthinkable pipe-dream. Of course, for some people, it is. Those are the people I suggested go into the desert and slaughter each other to their heart's content. Everybody else gets to live in peace.
