No it won't. This is just another one of these silly games people play to try to discredit a person instead of engaging with their argument. There is literally no bibliography I could provide that would make you say, "Oh, well then you obviously know what you're talking about." What books have YOU read? What difference does it make to whether you're right or not? This is such a silly question.
The fact is, it wouldn't matter if I'd only read a single book. The only question that matters is, are the things I'm saying true. If you can factually disprove anything I've ever said about the conflict or its origins, I'm very happy to learn. But I don't think you can.
I didn't say I'd spoken to these Zionists personally, though I have had more than a few former Zionists in my comments. I'm talking about, just off the top of my head, the Maté family, Matt Lieb, Richard Forer, Erin Axelman, and many, many, many more. Here's one of several threads on reddit with dozens of people talking about what opened their eyes.
I'm talking about the kind of Zionism that says because SOME Jews have indeed lived in Israel/Palestine/the Levant for thousands of years, ALL Jews, from anywhere in the world, have a god-given right, in perpetuity, to live there and displace the native Arab population.
The kind of Zionism that makes excuses for driving hundreds of thousands of innocent people from their homes and murdering thousands more.
The kind of Zionism that describes a 15-month military campaign, where senior government and military officials and soldiers said, on film, that there are "no uninvolved civilians" in Gaza, and that Israel should "erase Gaza from the face of the Earth" and where the prime minister invokes one of the most genocidal tales in the Bible to reference Gaza, as a “war” instead of a genocide.
The kind of Zionism that can describe a military campaign where IDF soldiers themselves talk about a environment where they are allowed to shoot civilians with impunity and where there are so many innocent children like Hind Rajab or heck, even three unarmed, shirtless, white-flag waving, Hebrew speaking Israeli hostages being shot needlessly and at close range by IDF soldiers, and where ~70% of the casualties (that’s around 35,000 people) are women and children as “intensive efforts to avoid civilian deaths.”
Oy vey indeed! This level of delusion would be funny if it weren't so morally bereft.
And you don't have to take my word for it. Listen to what former IDF soldiers themselves are saying at Breaking the Silence. Look at the reports coming out of B'Tselem. Look at the IDF soldiers posting their war crimes on TikTok!
I mean, look at what's happening even now. A ceasefire deal is agreed, starting on Sunday morning, the hostages are finally coming home, yet Israel is STILL killing as many Palestinians as it can before the ceasefire starts. 80 people, at least, since the deal was agreed. How on Earth do you justify this? What kind of people would do this? I don't need to be an authority on anything at all to understand that this is vile.
Again, I don't need to have read a single thing to know this is wrong. I don't need to read Mein Kampf to know the Holocaust was wrong. I don't need to read the Cornerstone speech to know slavery was wrong. Baffling that this isn't crystal clear to you.
