No. I've never claimed it was. I think it was an act of hate, misdirected at the innocent civilians (instead of the army) of a country that every single Palestinian has every reason to hate. If Hamas had restricted themselves to military targets, and maybe even to the settlers, I wouldn't have batted an eyelid.
And Hamas only exists, at least in its extremist, terroristic form, because of Israel's unacceptable aggression (and funding, but that's another story).
Seriously, think of any country on Earth (or maybe a state/province in the very large countries). Do you think, if any one of them, however "civilised" they are, were subjected to an invasion and occupation comparable to Palestine, they wouldn't have their own home-grown terrorists killing civilians?
You think Europeans are above that? Look at Northern Ireland and the IRA. You think Asians are above it? Look at the history of Japan and China. You think Americans are above it? What do you think would have happened if good old King George had been living next-door to the thirteen colonies.
The point that so many people have utterly failed to grasp here is that human beings will. fight oppression and tyranny. Always. Sometimes with horrific means. And the solution is to avoid oppressing and tyrannising people.
